Mike has more than twenty-five years experience in helping organisations improve the way they handle information, so they can become more effective. The key is to combine a clear understanding of the organisation's purpose and way it works, with a clear view of how better information handling can help.

Mike always works in a team with staff members to develop a joint understanding of the key aspects. In this way improvements can be identified, planned and implemented effectively. A normal by-product of this way of working is that staff team members get real insight into the way the organisation operates, and they often use this to guide other improvement projects after the original assignment is complete.

Assignments cover a very wide range from strategic changes to major processes, through project and programme management, to tendering and purchase of information facilities. In all of these, the key is to combine a very clear view of what is wanted in these particular circumstances, with wide experience of how to achieve it effectively.

Wide experience comes from in-depth exposure to many organisations in a variety of industries and many countries. Examples include meat and dairy processing, telecommunications, and central government (particularly fisheries management, e-government and mapping) in New Zealand, Thailand, Holland, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
